Self Care is defined as “the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one’s own health” and also “the practice of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress”.

This ‘practice’ is learned and a skillset, which need to be acquired. Modern Medicine as we know it specialises in disease management and treatment and offers little for a  self care skill set.

We need utilize natural, integrative medicine systems to contribute to our skill set. Ayurveda is a medicine system still practiced in India, which offers health maintenance and disease prevention skill set, which can be learned, practiced and applied.

These tips are a real eye opener and will make you re-think what is possible. A common response to the 21-day ayurveda journey is “Oh wouw! I had no idea!! but it makes sense”.

And, since they are universally applicable, they are also applicable for the whole family. They have the potential to make over your lifestyle choices and can make everyone life a bit healthier.

1. Universal Ayurveda

Universal Ayurveda are those diet and lifestyle choices which are considered universally true for everyone. Everyone can benefit from knowing these lifestyle tips and implementing as many as possible.

2. Specific Ayurveda for your Body Type

Specific to Ayurveda is the concept of body bio-energies and the opportunity to influence them for improved well-being. Since everybody has a different set of body-bio energies, the way we influence them varies from person to person. So the question ‘ is this or that healthy? ‘ is always answered with ‘it depends who you are’.

3. Customized Ayurveda for your unique Situation

Every person is different and even though you might share a body type with another person your history and unique lifestyle may be different. This is a customized approach to Ayurveda taking all of your specific situation into account.
